This is a self-portrait done by an artist named Henry Miller. I was just searching the internet and came across this one. For some reason it stood out to me. It seemed to be alot different that the numerous other portraits i had seen. This just seems so loose and free flowing. There are no harsh edges or hard lines. Everything just feels relaxed. The color is placed in an arbitrary manner, same as the loose lines the color just makes the compostion feel light and airy. The technique used in this painting could say something about the artist, maybe he, like the painting, is very free flowing and laid back. That is the feeling i get out of this self portrait.

Andy Warhol self portrait

This is an awesome series of self portraits done by the very famous Andy Warhol. The four images read as one compostion because they are all similar in size and color. I love how each of the famous has a different facial expession/ different hairstyle. This unifies the piece but also increase the visual interest. This piece adresses identity in the different facial expressions that are depicted. I see this as him expressing his personality.

Research Images

This is a painting done by Roy Lichtenstein, he is a famous painter that emerged during the pop art period. I love his artwork because of the simplicity of the color and compostion. Although this isn't a self portrait, this shows example of the stye in which he painted. The painting has great texture and great use of primary colors. overall i see his work as just a fun piece of art.
